The defending champion of the Premier League Manchester City found no opposition in one of the newly promoted teams, AFC Bournemouth.
They were able to score very soon. Got two big chances before reaching the sixth minute of the game. In the 19th minute, Ilkay Gündogan was planted in the area behind a wall with Erling Haaland on the edge . The German was left alone in front of Travers, and beat him. Haaland made his debut today at the Etihad Stadium in the light blue jersey, sealing the debut with an assist. The eyes were on him, but as always Kevin De Bruyne then became the protagonist.
About half an hour into the game, the Belgian doubled City’s lead with a great goal. He stepped on the edge of the box, feinted to fool Lloyd Kelly . He opened the gap right between two defenders. De Bruyne took advantage of it, hitting the long post with the outside of his foot . Five minutes later he saw Phil Foden arrive in the area. And bam! third in the evening for the citizens.
Cancelo nailed the game with an individual action that led to the fourth and final goal . His cross in the 79th minute bounced off Jefferson Lerma, and went into the net.
