A new king has come into power at the Emirates Stadium and his name is Gabriel Jesus. He scored two goals, served two assists and so far led an Arsenal that has started the Premier League with full of believe and optimism. Neither Saliba’s own goal nor Maddison’s insistence managed to turn the match around in Leicester’s favor.
Little more than 20 minutes into the match, in which Arsenal were suffocating Leicester, Gabriel Jesús picked up a ball inside the area, froze time and crossed a threaded shot that was as stunning as it was unexpected for Ward. 1-0 and with that the game’s thunder box opened, which before the break saw the second of Gabriel Jesús. From a corner with a great header from the Brazilian, Arsenal made it 2-0.
After the break on 53rd minute, the Foxes opened scoring with a headed own goal from Saliba! Although Arsenal responded promptly and did not take long to recover from 2-1. Leicester keeper Ward failed to grab the ball and Xhaka scored from an assist of Gabriel Jesus.
The match seemed to come alive for a moment after an amazing Maddison goal, to make it 3-2 with the collaboration of Ramsdale, to whom the ball passed unmercifully under his feet. Of course, the joy of the Foxes did not last long as a minute later they suffered the wrath of Martinelli’s left foot from outside the area and settled for 4-2, with more than 15 minutes to go.
